Acupuncture has been used to restore, promote and maintain good health and well-being for thousands of years. Traditional Chinese Medicine philosophy states our health is dependent on the bodys motivating energy Qi moving in a smooth and balanced way through a series of channels beneath the skin. Many things including emotions, poor nutrition, hereditary factors, infections, and trauma can disturb this flow of Qi. When Qi is unbalanced, illness may result.
The acupuncturist inserts ultra fine needles at chosen points along the channels of energy to obtain Qi, stimulate the bodys own healing response and restore its natural balance. Dee may also use acupressure tuina massage, cupping, gua sha, a TDP heat lamp, auricular acupuncture and electro acupuncture to help the healing process.

Acupuncture can be used to treat many diseases and conditions such as headaches and migraines, muscular aches (back and knee pain, sciatica, frozen shoulder, tennis elbow), emotional problems (stress, anxiety, PMT and depression), irritable bowel and digestive conditions (constipation, bloating, indigestion), asthma, sinusitis and arthritis through to more general feelings of ill health such as nausea, insomnia, and low energy. Increasingly women are choosing to have acupuncture to support them with menstrual problems, infertility, PCOS, pregnancy, morning sickness and the menopause it can be used to assist with giving up smoking, obesity and anorexia. It works very successfully in conjunction with western medicine to combat the side effects of prescribed drugs and for pain relief. Acupuncture is available for cosmetic enhancement, acne, psoriasis and other skin disorders.
